For those that were at the Chapter meeting last night, it was good to see you, for the rest hope to see you there next month, as we come out of winter it is like the Chapter come alive again, bring on summer.

Events This Week
Café Social Ride – Saturday 7 September
Lindsay is leading a ride from Motomart, (meet at 10:30) heading around the coast to Shelly Bay for lunch,
Blue Ribbon Charity Ride – Sunday 8 September
As a club we are supporting this ride and want to turn up together. So Eddie is leading a ride from the Bellevue, (meet at 8:30) then head out to Porirua where we will then join other riders for this charity ride.
Mid-week Ride – Wednesday 11 September
If you have the fortune of not having to work on this day, or just feel too ill to go in why not join John Baker for a mid-week ride. The Midweek Ride meets at MotoMart at 10.30am and leaves at 11.00. We'll decide the route and destination for lunch on the day. Always great riding with a small group and social time over lunch. Road Captain is John Baker.

If you're thinking about your social calendar for the next few months there are a few not to be missed events that you should be lining up for now.
14 September - Ride Forever Gold Course (NOW Full)
Here's another excellent Roadsafe Rider Gold course for the Chapter so take the opportunity to have a training day of fun and up-skilling with your fellow HOG riders.
21-22 September - Weekend Ride to Hanmer Springs
Welcome spring in with an overnight ride to Hanmer Springs led by John Baker. We always talk about the fact that weekends away are the best way to really get to know fellow club members so why not take the plunge and join us on this ride.
Numbers are growing for this ride so John has asked that if you are planning to come please register for the ride on Member Jungle or our website so he can give the restaurant, Fire and Ice, a feel for how many we will be for dinner on the Saturday night.

Labour Weekend - The Great Northern Muster (Regional HOG Event)
I’m sure you have heard about this North Island HOG Rally, which is being run jointly by the North Island chapters in Rotorua at Labour weekend. I hope you have your accommodation booked, if not get on to it quickly. Registrations for this rally close on the 14 October and T-shirt sales close on the 1st October so please get on to their website and register so you don’t miss out.

9 November - Ride Forever Gold Course

Annual Poker Ride - 17 November
Join us as the Bellevue Hotel for the Wellington HOG annual Poker Ride supporting Child Cancer Foundation
- Registrations on the day - commencing at 09:00
- Ride starts 10:30 and finishes at approx 12:30
- $20 per hand - buy as many as you like
- $10 for a Patch - limited numbers, so get in quick
- Great prizes, great ride and all proceeds go to Child Cancer Foundation
Christmas Party – 7 December
Last night Eddie announced that our Christmas Party will be held at the Lowry Bay Yacht Club on 7 December, be in quick for this event as it will be limited to 90 people. Tickets cost $50 which covers the venue, band and a full smorgasbord dinner; buy your tickets early and the price is reduced to $40. (Ends 6th November)

2020 National Rally "Thunder Mountain"
Next year will see the return of the HOG National Rally
We can now share the following details with you for the 2020 National HOG Rally "Thunder Mountain"
- Date – 13-14 March 2020
- Venue – Ohakune. Based at the Powderhorn Chateau at Ohakune Junction
- Registration desk – on site on Friday afternoon (13th March) and Saturday morning(14th March)
- Website - Thunder Mountain
