Hard Arse Ride to Ohakune for Lunch

NOTE: The Chapter has a QR code you will need to scan for this and all future rides.

This Hard Arse Ride is for experienced riders, the day is long and the pace will need to be maintained so we get around the loop together. It is proposed the Road Captain and Tail End Charlie roles will be shared over the day to give the leaders and tail enders a break.

We will only be stopping once midway on the north and south legs for GAS and a quick snack break, your bike must have enough fuel capacity to achieve this.

Barring any issues we will not be stopping between the scheduled stops.

This is a long hard day so you and your bike will need to be fit to go.

The ride route is a figure 8 route so we avoid covering the same roads twice

Meet Caltex Rimutaka 7.00am

Briefing 7.20am

Leave 7.30am

SH2 to Woodville

10 minute GAS Snack and Rest Stop Caltex Woodville   141km

Ashurst, Colyton, Cheltenham, Vinegar Hill, join SH1, Waiouru

Ohakune  Lunch and GAS Stop  167km   4 hours and 10 min  we should arrive Ohakune by 12 noon

Utopia Cafe for lunch.

Leave Ohakune BP at 1.00pm, Raetahi, Paraparas SH4, Whanganui, Bulls

10 minute GAS Snack and Rest Stop BP Bulls   140km

Finish at The Supply Room Mana Esplanade 131Km    3 hours 30 min

Total 580km and approx 7 hours 40 minutes

Leaving at 7.30am we should be back at Mana by 5.00pm

We will be communicating with the group via Member Jungle email well before the ride day on the weather, road conditions and the ride briefing notes.
